Our harvest just gets bigger and better each year, with the invaluable expertise from our fab horticultural therapist and lots of hard work from our many green fingered volunteers – even our mini-dreamers from gardening club had a bumper crop! For more information contact us on email@example.com
We were delighted when Stamps took up residency at the hub as they produce top quality real ales, and they are a lovely group of folk who are passionate about the vital role pubs play in communities. Having an on-site micro-brewery also means our carbon footprint is practically zero as once the beer is ready, we simply ‘roll them over’ the field to the Lock & Quay! Stamps have been brewing since 2013, supplying the jointly-owned Stamps Bar in Crosby, with any spare capacity being sold in local bars. They brew a maximum of 4.5 barrels (36 gallons) per session and pride themselves on their beer being environmentally friendly with all of the used grain being taken to a local city farm where it is fed to ‘grateful’ pigs! They also offer a bespoke service providing private label bottled lager and bitter – generic beers that the client can label with their own branding. Whether you are looking for a unique ‘Wedding Day’ brew or an unusual corporate marketing tool.
‘A Hen’s tale’ the story began with the donation of two tiny chicks that needed a home, so we made them one and ‘Molly’ and ‘Matilda’ were soon part of the SAFE family. Two soon became eight, with more hens joining the throng until ‘Matilda’ was swiftly retired to a lovely farm, when he turned out to be ‘Matty’!! The girls are now in a bigger hen-house which gives them lots of room to run around and even swings to play on (really!). We believe happy hens lay the best eggs which make the best cakes – Irene agrees…
